Cricket Investigation

Testable Question : Do crickets prefer Dark  or Light environments ?

Hypothesis:  If I give a cricket the option of a dark or light environment. I think it will move to the dark environment because when we had to observe whether crickets prefer wet or dry environments. When Jamie turned the classroom light on, the crickets started to walk around. And then the crickets started to move like crazy.

Background Research: In science our group observed what the crickets where doing when we was doing the wet or dry environments. The things a cricket needs is food

This Week In Science # 6
We did a cricket investigation where we had to write what a cricket needs, like food, water, where they live, and etc... We also had to also ask question like : Do crickets prefer cold or hot weather ? or Do crickets prefer soda or water ? Also this week in science we did a mission challenge about crickets where we had to get in groups and do two sheet packet about whether crickets like wet or dry environments. The last thing we learned was about Dichotomous Keys.

What I learned :

This week I learned what A Dichotomous key is. A dichotomous key means to classify non-living things and livings things by putting them into groups. Also I noticed that Crickets chirp in the morning or afternoon.

This Week In Science #5

What we did in science:

I learned about animal behaviors. And talking about animal behaviors we watched a couple of videos with the class of how animals behave in some ways, like the first video we saw was about a rare owl parrot trying to mate with the scientist. The other one we saw was the monkey trying to make out with a cat. In this unit we are going to learn about how crickets behave.

What I learned :

I learned That animals for some reason act/behave in some sort way. I noticed that when I saw the video about the rare owl parrot he was being violent, rough, agresive, also a slapper, abusive, and playful at the same time. Also I learned that when crickets are kind of jumpy when I observed it with my group.
