This month in science we did a project called zoology of the future. In this project we had to get in groups of four to create our fantasy animal. while creating our fantasy animal first we created a power point which included: where it lives, the climate, vegetation, the land form etc... Also in this project we had to pick animals that live in the hot and cold dessert and it had to adapt to its new climate. Doing this project took us like about 3weeks to do.
What I learned was that in the Hot and Cold that the plants of the dry dessert had adapted to the lack of water by using dew for moisture and taking in water through their leaves and stems. I also learned that the desserts take up to 8.6 million square miles ( 22 million square kilometers ) of earth's surface. I also learned that dunes are not only found in hot desserts but it could be found in dry desserts too. But also the dunes are made up of winds causing the sand to pile up.

Cricket Investigation
Testable Question : Do crickets prefer Dark or Light environments ?
Hypothesis: If I give a cricket the option of a dark or light environment. I think it will move to the dark environment because when we had to observe whether crickets prefer wet or dry environments. When Jamie turned the classroom light on, the crickets started to walk around. And then the crickets started to move like crazy.
Background Research: In science our group observed what the crickets where doing when we was doing the wet or dry environments. The things a cricket needs is food

This Week In Science # 6
We did a cricket investigation where we had to write what a cricket needs, like food, water, where they live, and etc... We also had to also ask question like : Do crickets prefer cold or hot weather ? or Do crickets prefer soda or water ? Also this week in science we did a mission challenge about crickets where we had to get in groups and do two sheet packet about whether crickets like wet or dry environments. The last thing we learned was about Dichotomous Keys.
What I learned :
This week I learned what A Dichotomous key is. A dichotomous key means to classify non-living things and livings things by putting them into groups. Also I noticed that Crickets chirp in the morning or afternoon.

This Week In Science #5
What we did in science:
I learned about animal behaviors. And talking about animal behaviors we watched a couple of videos with the class of how animals behave in some ways, like the first video we saw was about a rare owl parrot trying to mate with the scientist. The other one we saw was the monkey trying to make out with a cat. In this unit we are going to learn about how crickets behave.
What I learned :
I learned That animals for some reason act/behave in some sort way. I noticed that when I saw the video about the rare owl parrot he was being violent, rough, agresive, also a slapper, abusive, and playful at the same time. Also I learned that when crickets are kind of jumpy when I observed it with my group.

This week in science #4
What we did in Science.
This week in science we another mission that my team was assigned to do which was about nitrogen. And in that mission we had to do alot of math which was very difficult because after we divided the numbers we had to round it up. TWIS ( This Week In Science ) we also did data day #2 which was to measure the plants and see how they were progressing. Just like to days ago we did a plant investigation write up #1 and #2 . In plant investigation write up # 1 we actually wrote what we were going to acomplish for the day. And in plant investigation #2 we also wrote what we were going to do but also we started to do the plant investigation report with my team mates.
What we learned
This week in science I learned how to keep track of the plants with me team mates ( Elisabeth, christine, carlos ), But eventually the plants died. Also I learned that not only did the plants died but I learned how to do a data chart or digital graph chart however you want to call it, on the computers. One moment I had in science class was when we first planted the brassicarapa seeds into our second plant investigation it made me wonder how are they going to grow in just 14 days ?

This week in science 3
What we did this week in science.
This week in science we started planting the brassicarapas for our plant investigation # 2. We also observed the plants and drew pictures. Than we were given a secret mission to do which was go around and ask our classmates how many siblings they have, than we had to draw a bar graph represents how many siblings do we have. Also this week in science we did hypothesis and procedure which was to write hypothesis from the testible questions that we chose.
What I learned.
This week in science I learned that brassicarapas plants grow within 14 days. Also this week in science learned that a hypothesis is a statement that predicts the outcome of an experiement. Also I learned that brassicarapas are common vegetables, and does not become diseased with fungi, bacteria or viruses resitant .
